The wheelchair dance people phoned me yesterday, they want to see me again! They'll call tomorrow to arrange another date! That must be good news right?!

It's another grey day out. I had a dream I was pole dancing, I often dream I'm recovering or have recovered. One night I dreamt I could move my legs and in my half asleep daze I was still trying to do it but couldn't!

You'll be pleased to hear I avoided the orange squash... lol!

I met a Devotee Friday night, I'm not going to go into it too much but it was a very pleasant experience seeing as I was absolutely shitting myself with nerves incase he was one of the very small minority of 'bad' Devs. I'm always safe, I had a friend take me and gave him the room number and number of the guy, along with some instructions. Thankfully he was lovely, looked like a regular guy (I didn't know what to expect, so don't have a pop at me lol), friendly, and very polite and caring.

The insurance will be picking my car up Monday, and I've put up my old car for sale (it was a lovely little convertible that I can no longer drive as it is manual).

Just had a wobbly shower sat in my bath and eating a bar of Milka chocolate for breakfast haha x lives of the rich and famous hey! LOL! xx

Seeing as summer's coming I thought I better make the effort and get the hairs off my legs, they're blonde anyway so they aren't noticeable, but it makes me feel better!

I rolled up to the side of my bath where I have an Archimedes bath chair that goes up and down, put my legs over the side of the bath and lifted myself over onto the bath chair. I don't like shaving so I have hair removal cream, I put on a pair of rubber gloves and squirted the cream into the one glove while I held myself steady with the other on the side of the bath and covered my right leg in the cream. I then did the left leg and waited 5 minutes before lowering myself into the bath and turning the shower head on to rinse it all off!

After getting out and drying and rubbing lotion in I checked them and they feel very nice and silky now!

I'm really really pissed off at the moment. It started out a great day, picked my car up, I was OK driving it, went for food, went for a stroll by the river. Then, I was driving my friend and I to Asda and on a roundabout I fell sideways, I don't have the strength or muscle to get up easily and in my panic I mounted a roundabout and crashed into a tree.

The levers on my car are pull to accelerate and push to break, now in my eyes common sense would be push forward to speed up and pull back to brake and I'd been unsure all day, and when I was in my panic you can guess which way I was pulling the lever.

The car is fine, we are fine, but where I hit the tree my oil tank is bust, so I can't even use it now til they take it and repair it. Fucking great!

The weather is fantastic again today, yesterday my friend and I went to our favourite 2 for 1 steak place and sat in the beer garden soaking up the rays. I had the call saying my car will be ready Thursday but now wish I'd chosen a convertible!

Right now I'm sat by my patio doors, one open, with my slide board on my lap using it as a table for my keyboard and mouse. My hair is damp from the shower I had earlier.

Lately, my tiny toes on my right foot have been moving, not at will but moving most of the time, it's fascinating to watch! I'm hoping maybe they'll move at will some time soon...

Later I want to try and get some high heels on, keep my ankles straight and maybe lift myself up, I'm sure if I keep trying I'll stand, right?

Sunday 19 April 2009

Today I set my alarm for 11am, so when it went off I decided not to do my catheter in bed but go to the toilet and use the little Speedicath Compact, as it's actually quicker! The reason I was up so early? I was expecting a visit.... from the BBC!

At 2pm they arrived with their camera to interview me with the potential of particiating in a TV show about Wheelchair Dancing! It will be like Dancing On Ice, a competiton, and they train the successful applicants for 4 weeks before the show commences! Wicked opportunity! They also made me do wheelies in the garden and dance to show my rhythm lol! Lush weather out!

Friday 17 April 2009

I was up at around midday today, bit early lol but I had a few things I needed to do - my housemate has his car back and a trip to Asda was to be the highlight of my week lol! Plus I had to get to the Job Centre and sort out some form to do with the car I'm getting.

My housemate carried me into his car as I didn't want to risk scratching his car with my wheelchair, I love being carried, I used to make my friends carry me before I had the accident, in the end I had to get new friends haha!

Anyway, we parked outside the Job Centre and the kerb was on the driver side and it looked a bit dangerous to carry me out of the passenger side so I decided to get over to the drivers side of the car which was a right palaver! The cars waiting at the traffic lights were looking in bewilderment as I lifted and bent my legs at all angles to get them over the other side of the car and then found the best place to position my hands to lift over. I got as far as the gap between the gear stick and the handbrake then moved some more til i was perfectly seated for my housemate to lift me out like the princess I am! I had to do the same in reverse getting back in and both my shoes came off in transit!

Asda was less tricky as I could just be rescued from the side I was already sat in!

Thursday 16 April 2009

I was fast asleep this morning when the buzzer to my apartment rang, I knew it'd be the people who deliver my catheters and stuff as they called yesterday. I hurried myself to the edge of the bed and was half way into my chair when they impatiently rang the buzzer again which made me panic. I nearly fell out of the chair twice trying to get in and by the time I got to the door they were gone. They KNOW I'm disabled, no one is up at 9am, I was really really pissed off! I got back into bed and called them, assuming it'd be the last number on my phone, started ranting and realised I had accidently called the people who want to run a Wheelchair Dancing show! I was so embarrassed haha!

After a few hours catch-up sleep I got up, had a wash and wriggled my way into a pair of black bootcut jeans and a vest. I always have fluffy socks on to keep my numb little toes warm!

It's raining here, had our summer over the weekend!
